General Pricing Guidelines
Commission Terms & Pricing
Simple backgrounds ex: gradients/patterns/textures/frames, by request. Other Backgrounds by negotiation. Other things, like commercial work, as well as different styles, chibis, paintings, and realism etc. are by negotiation.
10% Discount to first-time commissioners! Another 5% off for those that bring 10 watchers to one of my social media pages, or if you send a friend over for a commission.
Commercial work, as well as different styles, paintings, and realism etc. are by negotiation. (I'm still figuring out pricing for other art styles like graphic design, 3D modeling, and paintings.)
Licensing & Rights
For Noncommercial Commissions: As the original artist, I still retain the copyright of the image and can use it in my portfolio as well as commercially to advertise myself. Meaning the "intellectual property rights" of the picture (not your character) legally still belong to me as the artist. Please do not re-sell my work without my consent. If you are interested in using my art for commercial purposes, please let me know and we will discuss an appropriate licensing agreement/contract.
Contract
Please note that all my commissions come with a contract that must be signed usually before work can be started on your commission. This is too ensure you as the commissioner fully understand and have documentation of how your commission can be used as well as myself.
Note: Under the circumstances I do start your commission before the completion of our contract, (for Ex: during a livestream) you will need to sign it before I can send your finished artwork.
F.A.Q
How does the commission process work?
After you have sent your commission request with a description of how you want it to look, you will be sent an e-mail with a contract that will need to be signed. The contract will outline the description and parameters of your artwork, including its expense, terms of use, and an optional completion date. Once you have signed and sent back the contract you will receive an invoice requesting half of your commission’s payment; this will need to be payed for work to progress.
During the making process I will often send my clients water marked ‘works in progress’ to ensure the artwork is being made to satisfaction. Depending on your preference you can receive (within reason) as few or as many WIPs as you would like.
At the time your commission has been completed you will be sent a link to the finished work with a watermark over it for approval. When you have approved the final image, you will need to pay the remainder of your commission fee to receive the final artwork at its full resolution and watermark free. The finished commission will be sent to you via link (usually Google Doc or OneDrive) were you will have 5 business days to download it. If you miss that time frame, please email me and I will repost it.
Finally, you will receive another e-mail containing a thank you letter as well as a copy of our shared contract.
(Please Note: for commissions that are requested and made during a live stream you will need to sign a contract after the stream when I can e-mail it and your invoice to you. Please do not donate/gift money to pay for your commission. Tips and donations for sketch requests that are posted to my Instagram/social media are fine, but commissions need to be done through invoices only.)
What if I want something changed or adjusted in my commission?
You are allowed up to 3 revisions after all terms/conditions of the artwork have been met. After that you will need to pay an additional %50 for any changes you would like made.
Can I use my commission as an icon/avatar?
Yes. As long as you are not selling and making a profit off of the image directly or indirectly, I am fine with you using it for your social media icon/profile image. The same can be said for any roleplay usage. It is appreciated if you link or tag me to your post, but not necessary. Contact me if you would like to use an image for commercial use.
Can I post the finished picture online to a social media account?
Yes, of course. And if you do please let me know so I can fave/reblog your post. Tagging/crediting me is appreciated too but you are not obligated to do so. Please do not cover up or cut out my signature/logo as this allows people to look up my name and find my work.
Can I color/ink and repost the image you send me?
If they are line art/coloring pages or sketches I don't mind, just please tag or message me with a link to the version of the image you've changed. I would like to see your beautiful work and may just shout you out on one of my social media pages! Again, please do not cover up or cut out my signature/logo, and do not trace/re-color my fully colored/painted works. If you would like a line art/coloring page of your commission, please let me know.
Can I resell this image on a t-shirt/mug/mouse pad/card/etc…?
You cannot use an image purchased at Non-Commercial value for direct or indirect profit. However, if you are interested in using an illustration for commercial purposes you can inquire about purchasing an additional license. The contract we agree on will outline the terms and conditions of how the image can be used. Ex: The length of time you can use the image, in what way it can be used, and any royalty costs, etc…
Can I use the image to promote my YouTube Channel, advertise a product, or indirectly make a profit?
If you are going to use the image for any kind of revenue/advertising, please purchase the image for 'Commercial Use'. Commercial prices are by negotiation.
Will you do Work for Hire?
Generally, I would prefer not to do work for hire because it will more than likely take away my ability to market myself with whatever I create. I'll only consider doing work for hire under the condition a contract states I can still show my finished work to advertise myself. Ex: Putting the image on my website/social media, in my portfolio, using it in a marketing reel, or on display posters at conventions/exhibits, etc…
Please let me know if you have any questions. Your feedback is invaluable.
